EAPS Field Trip

EAPS Field Trips are designed to be engaging, accessible, and hands-on.

Participants work with real materials - either paintable bisque pottery or clay - supported by members of the EAPS studio team throughout the session. Each visit balances clear guidance with creative freedom, allowing participants to explore ideas while learning foundational techniques.

Projects are adapted to suit the age, experience level, and goals of each group. Educators, chaperones, and group leaders are welcome to observe or participate alongside their group.

EAPS Field Trips can be structured in a variety of ways depending on your group’s size, age range, and goals. Our studio team works with you to select the format that best fits your visit.

1. PYOP field trip
Participants paint pre-made pottery pieces from a curated selection designed for group visits. This flexible option emphasizes creativity, choice, and accessibility and works well for a wide range of ages.

2. Hand-building field trip
A guided ceramics experience focused on building with clay by hand using techniques such as pinch, slab, or coil building. Projects are selected by the EAPS studio team and tailored to the group’s age and experience level.

3. Pottery wheel field trip
A hands-on introduction to the pottery wheel with guided instruction. This option is limited by equipment and studio layout and is best suited for smaller groups or rotating stations within a larger visit.

4. Custom field trip program
For larger groups or extended visits, EAPS can design a custom program that may include a combination of PYOP, hand-building, wheel experiences, studio demonstrations, or guided discussions.

Pricing for EAPS Field Trips follows the same structure as our private in-studio events, with different models depending on the type of experience selected.

PYOP field trip pricing
• $395 includes up to 10 participants
• $35 per additional participant
• Includes a curated selection of group-friendly pottery
• Specialty pieces may be selected for an additional charge

Clay-based field trip pricing (hand-building or wheel)
• $200 studio reservation fee (required)
• $85 per participant
• 10% event discount applied ($76.50 per participant)
• Includes clay, tools, instruction, glazing, and firing

Custom field trip programs
• Pricing is customized based on duration, rotations, and group size

Optional add-ons
• Themed or guided PYOP instruction: + $175
• Additional event time: + $150 per additional hour
• Additional staffing or custom requests may be quoted during planning

• Field trips take place at EAPS Long Beach
• Designed for a wide range of ages and group types; projects are tailored to each group
• Group size varies by experience type and studio capacity
• Larger groups may be divided into rotating blocks or scheduled across multiple sessions

• Lead time requirements vary by experience type:
– PYOP field trips: minimum 7 days
– Hand-building and wheel field trips: minimum 14 days
– Custom or multi-block programs: 2–4 weeks

• All pottery, clay, tools, paints, materials, setup, and cleanup are provided by EAPS
• Glazing and firing are included for all clay-based projects

• Finished pottery timelines vary by project type and will be reviewed during planning
• Field trip groups coordinate pickup through a single point of contact
• Groups are responsible for transportation to and from the studio

A $200 studio reservation fee is required to secure your field trip date and is non-refundable.

Rescheduling is permitted with at least 14 days’ notice, subject to availability.

Any remaining field trip costs are due on the day of the visit or according to your organization’s billing arrangement.
